I like to paint the beauty in every day things whether a simple object, a country field, or a child on the beach.. I see the beauty in light and how it hits objects, landscapes, or people. The play of light on an object is magical- it intensifies colr,crates shadow,reveals shape, and highlights the relationship of objects.For this reason ,simple objects are very complex and make fascinating subjects for still life paintings. When I paint landscapes I like to paint on location.. When I paint plein air, I like the challenge of capturing the sunlight as it moves across the landscape and reveals the true colors of nature. Likewise, I enjoy portraying the energy and charm of children on the beach and representing the effects created by the interplay of light and subject..............
